Vubiquity is hiring. The multiplatform video services company Jan. 19 announced the appointment of Jose Antonio Hidalgo to VP of Latin America. Hidalgo will spearhead all commercial activities in Latin America, including tactical leadership for sales efforts and business development.

Hidalgo’s resumé includes programming sales for NBC Universal, Telemundo, Televisa Networks and 20th Century Fox Television. He also has strong relationships across the digital television ecosystem through his experience with IPTV/broadband services such as Maxcom, and advertising/digital place-based media for companies including SSL Digital and Premier Retail Networks.

He will be based in Mexico City and reports to Vubiquity president Doug Sylvester.

“Vubiquity has enjoyed tremendous success working with OTT and traditional service providers throughout Latin America,” Sylvester said in a statement. “Jose Antonio’s extensive relationships with content owners and service providers throughout the region make him an ideal fit to lead sales and commercial activities as we continue to expand our reach in the region.”

Hidalgo’s hiring comes on the heels of former Warner Home Video executive Michele Edelman being named EVP of marketing and communications at Vubiquity. The company, headed by CEO Darcy Antonellis, also recently named industry veteran Ross Levingsohn to the board.
