Starz Adds HBO’s Baldwin

5 Nov, 2012 By: Chris Tribbey

Starz Entertainment has added long-time HBO veteran Dave Baldwin as its new EVP of program planning.

Baldwin most recently served in the same capacity for HBO, where he worked 31 years in various research and planning roles. Baldwin will report to Starz CEO Chris Albrecht, and will be responsible for program planning and research, supporting all 17 of Starz’s linear channels, as well as VOD and online services.

“Dave has an incredible amount of experience and a proven track record in program planning and research,” Albrecht said. “His industry experience and trusted counsel will serve me and the business well. Dave’s stewardship will ensure a quick and seamless transition of programming operations.”

Baldwin takes over for Stephan Shelanski, who is leaving the company at the end of the year.

“These are exciting times at Starz in light of our growing portfolio of original programming and our terrific complement of Hollywood movies,” Baldwin said. “Moreover, I look forward to guiding my research and programming planning teams as they continue to fortify and optimize our products across all platforms.”
