Soumya Sriraman Named EVP at BBC Worldwide Americas25 Oct, 2011 By: Ashley Ratcliff
BBC Worldwide Americas has appointed Soumya Sriraman, former president and CEO of Palisades Tartan U.S. and U.K., as EVP of home entertainment and licensing.
Beginning Nov. 1, Sriraman will be charged with increasing revenue across the BBC’s DVD and licensing business in the United States and Canada. She also will be responsible for expanding the business through new product, maximizing distribution, creating partnerships and developing brand platforms.
“Soumya has a strong track record and is a fantastic addition to our executive team,” said BBC Worldwide Americas COO Ann Sarnoff, to whom Sriraman reports. “… Soumya’s extensive experience in home entertainment, coupled with her entrepreneurial drive and fresh perspective make her the perfect choice to grow both [the DVD and licensing] businesses and lead them into the future.”
While at Palisades Tartan, Sriraman led the relaunch of the brand and increased sales amid a declining market. In September she was honored as one of Home Media Magazine’s 40 Under 40 executives.
Previously, Sriraman served as SVP at Vivendi Entertainment, Universal Music and Video Distribution’s filmed entertainment arm, and held positions with Warner Home Video and Universal Home Entertainment.
