Sony DADC To Cut 3523 Sep, 2009 By: Chris Tribbey
Sony DADC will lay off 35 workers at its Terre Haute, Ind., facility beginning Oct. 1, the Tribune-Star newspaper reported.
In a statement to the paper, Sony officials said the cuts “best align our operations with the changing demand of our customer base.”
“As part of our continued efforts to establish and sustain cost-effective operations to remain competitive in an ever-challenging economic landscape, we are moving forward with various transformation initiatives,” Sony officials told the paper.
The cuts represent a 2.5% drop in the company’s workforce, which now stands at about 1,400, the paper reported.
