Rovi Corp. has named Andy Elder as its new EVP of worldwide sales and marketing.
Elder comes to Rovi from patent company Intellectual Ventures, where he served as EVP of global licensing. Prior to that, he spent 13 years working with Cisco Systems, where he oversaw $2 billion in product revenue.
“Andy’s dual strengths in product sales and patent licensing make him uniquely suited for this senior leadership role, and we're very excited he has decided to join Rovi,” said Rovi president and CEO Tom Carson. “His customer orientation and operational expertise will help further our commitment to driving increased sales revenue, productivity and profitability.”
Elder added: “I am very enthusiastic about joining Rovi and helping to reinforce the management team’s focus on creating a strong product culture based on delighting customers and executing with excellence. I look forward to working with the sales and marketing group to continue the momentum with both the product and IP portfolios to increase Rovi’s market impact and drive stockholder value.”
Additionally, Matt Milne, Rovi’s EVP of sales, will assume a new role, managing strategic accounts with a focus on upcoming major renewals with multiservice cable and satellite providers in North America.
“Matt’s expertise in understanding complex customer requirements, coupled with his experience and relentless drive to over deliver, make him a natural choice for this newly created position,” Carson said.
