Researcher Jerilyn Kessel Dies

Research veteran Jerilyn Kessel died Oct. 6 of natural causes at her Los Angeles home, according to Asbury Park Press.

Kessel was raised in Ocean Township, N.J., and first served as director of research at Warner Amex Satellite Entertainment. She later served as director of research at Showtime Network, was co-founder and senior analyst at Video Flash at Alexander & Associates, SVP of programming and marketing of Entertainment Made Convenient (EMC3), and VP of strategic marketing and research at American Interactive Media.

Most recently she co-founded Centris, a research organization for the voice, video and data markets. Kessel was a trusted source of research information for strategic marketing to the entertainment industry.

Kessel is survived by her mother, Phyllis Kessel; her brother, Steven L. Kessel; and her friend, Robert Olins. Donations in Kessel’s memory may be made to the Monmouth County SPCA, 260 Wall Street, Eatontown, NJ 07724.
