Peace Arch Names New CEO14 Jul, 2009 By: Chris Tribbey
Canada’s Peace Arch Entertainment Group has upped president and COO John Flock to CEO, effective immediately.
Flock replaces Gerry Noble, who stepped down in early May.
“I am extremely pleased to be taking the reins of Peace Arch at a time when many of our competitors have scaled back their operations,” Flock said. “This retrenchment presents an extraordinary opportunity for Peace Arch to grow its core business of feature film and television distribution while we continue to look for strategic growth opportunities in ancillary businesses.”
Flock said one of his priorities is to rebuild the company’s DVD distribution operations. Peace Arch sold its home entertainment operations in mid-April to a consortium led by Peace Arch Home Entertainment President Berry Meyerowitz.
“John has exhibited tremendous leadership and vision over the past five years at Peace Arch dealing with a number of challenges for the company,” said Peace Arch chairman Robert Essery. “John enjoys the complete support of the board, our principal shareholders and the management team.”
