Netflix has named Gregory K. Peters to the position of VP of partner product development. He will report to Netflix chief product officer Neil Hunt.
Peters will be responsible for bringing to market consumer electronics devices capable of instantly streaming movies and TV episodes from Netflix. He will be based out of Netflix’s Los Gatos, Calif. headquarters.
Peters’ hire comes along with recent efforts to increase streaming capabilities for Netflix. The company recently partnered with LG Electronics, Roku, Microsoft, Samsung and TiVo for devices capable of streaming Netflix content, and a deal with Starz Entertainment upped the amount of content Netflix has available to stream.
Peters has prior experience in strategic planning and product development in the digital media market, most recently serving as SVP of consumer electronics products for Macrovision Solutions.
“Greg’s expertise in all aspects of the product development lifecycle — from vision to design to implementation — will be a significant asset to Netflix and our partners as we push toward our goal of eventually enabling all U.S. households to stream Netflix to their TVs,” Hunt said.
