Miramax CEO Mike Lang Resigns16 Mar, 2012 By: Erik Gruenwedel
Miramax CEO Mike Lang is resigning and will remain a consultant until a successor is found, the studio announced March 16.
No reason for the former music industry executive's departure was given.
Santa Monica, Calif.-based Miramax said CFO Steve Schoch will act as interim CEO until a permanent CEO was found.
In a statement, Lang, who assumed the CEO position in 2010, said he remained “highly supportive” of Miramax and its forward opportunities, which include leveraging a 700-film catalog across multiple distribution channels, including packaged media and electronic, both domestically and abroad.
“I wish the team continued success,” he said.
Last December Eric Doctorow stepped down after 10 months as EVP of home entertainment. Doctorow had been charged with managing Miramax's relationships with distributors of DVD and Blu-ray Discs from its 550 title-plus library, including Lionsgate, StudioCanal and Echo Bridge.
