Lori MacPherson Leaving Disney11 Apr, 2014 By: Erik Gruenwedel
Lori MacPherson, EVP of global product management with Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment, is leaving after almost 23 years at the studio.
Disney, which is in the midst of internal restructuring, last fall upped Janice Marinelli to president of Disney Studio global in-home and digital distribution and Disney ABC North America content distribution.
MacPherson reportedly made the decision to exit Disney at the end of the month. She was instrumental in transitioning Disney’s home entertainment division to Blu-ray Disc, digital copy and membership loyalty programs, among other initiatives.
Marinelli, whose executive background included ABC TV distribution, was instrumental in securing Disney’s landmark pay-TV distribution movie agreement with Netflix, slated to begin in 2017.
No replacement for MacPherson has been announced.
