Veteran Fox executive to continue focusing on increasing studio’s SVOD footprint
20th Century Fox Television Distribution March 10 promoted Kristen Finney to SVP of worldwide pay television and subscription video-on-demand (SVOD), effective immediately. Most recently, Finney acted as VP of worldwide pay television and SVOD.
Finney will work to expand the studio’s SVOD business globally. She will continue to be responsible for licensing the studio’s film and television product to pay-television services and SVOD platforms to multiple territories worldwide, including the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Asia, India and Australia and across Central and Eastern Europe.
Fox, along with other Hollywood studios, is upping its global profile with subscription streaming services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime Instant Video.
Fox’s parent, 21st Century Fox LLC, co-owns Hulu (and Hulu Plus) with The Walt Disney Co. and NBC Universal.
The announcement was made by Gina Brogi, EVP of worldwide pay television and SVOD, to whom Finney reports in Los Angeles.
“Kristen is a skilled negotiator who has concluded some of our largest and most complicated pay-TV and SVOD deals. Kristen’s achievements have significantly impacted the growth and success of our business. She’s a valued member of this organization and we are pleased to recognize her accomplishments with this promotion,” Brogi said in a statement.
Finney has been with Fox for more than a decade. Prior to joining the studio’s worldwide television distribution division, she served as a VP in Fox’s home entertainment division in London.
