The Entertainment Merchants Association (EMA) Scholarship Foundation announced the five recipients of its scholarship for college and college-bound students.
“This year’s recipients are truly superb students,” said Bo Andersen, president and CEO of the EMA. “EMA takes great pride in acknowledging outstanding students and in being able to assist our members and their families to obtain college educations.”
Those chosen are Jeanine Cerney of Sheffield Village, Ohio (member company Giant Eagle); Michael Hung of Aventura, Fla. (member company GameStop); Ben Lahue of Todville, Iowa (member company Target); Sarah Lewis of Seneca, Penn. (member company GameStop); and Jonathan Weatherbie of Paoloa, Kan. (member company GameStop).

Recipients were chosen out of dozens of entries by EMA’s scholarship committee, consisting of representatives from four member companies. They will receive $1,500 per year for up to four years, if they are entering college as a freshman.

Separately, EMA announced David Perry, CEO of Gaikai Inc., a cloud-based streaming service for video games and applications, will keynote the group’s upcoming EMA GamePlan Summit, for the video game retail industry, held Sept. 21-23 in Chicago.
