E1 Entertainment has promoted Dan Gurlitz to SVP of video for the company’s distribution arm.

Formerly VP of video, Gurlitz joined the company in 2003 when it was known as Koch Vision/Koch Lorber films, serving as GM. He will maintain his role as GM of the label Koch Vision/Koch Lorber, now E1 Entertainment, which distributes various labels.

Gurlitz will continue to report to Michael Rosenberg, president of E1 Entertainment U.S. Reporting to Gurlitz will be Wally Schmidt, VP of marketing and product development; Janet Baker, director of sales; Matt Farina, senior label manager; and Ryan Cooper, label manager.

Gurlitz previously has served as GM at Wellspring Media and as video president at Unapix Entertainment. He began his career in home entertainment in 1984, serving as director of advertising for Win Records & Video.
