David Haddad has been promoted to president of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment — two years after joining WBIE in 2013 as SVP of digital publishing. WBIE is a unit of Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group.

With Warner reasserting itself in video games and interactive entertainment, Haddad is responsible for all aspects of operations, including publishing, sales, marketing, digital/mobile games, business development and game production.

It’s been a banner year for WBIE following launches of games, Batman: Arkham Knight, Mortal Kombat X, Lego Jurassic World and Dying Light. WBIE also broke into the toys-to-life category last month with the release of Lego Dimensions.

Indeed, in the first half of the year, WBIE ranked as the top video game publisher in the country, and Mortal Kombat X was the top-selling game.

“David has proved himself to be a leader who is equally adept at the creative and management sides of the games business,” Ron Sanders, president of Warner Bros. Worldwide Home Entertainment Distribution, said in a statement.

Haddad reports to Sanders and Diane Nelson, president of DC Entertainment, president and CCO of WBIE, and president of Warner Bros. Consumer Products, in Los Angeles.
