Borders Group has named Arthur Keeney SVP, marketing. He will report to Anne Kubek, EVP, merchandising and marketing.
“The greatest challenge for our company right now is to drive sales, and Art brings a solid track record of demonstrated results,” said Borders Group CEO Ron Marshall.
Keeney will manage Borders.com and conduct the search for a new VP of e-commerce as current VP of Borders.com, Rich Fahle, will serve in the newly created role of VP, creative, outreach and entertainment. Fahle will directly report to Keeney, as will the new VP of e-commerce.
Keeney has more than three decades of retail experience at such companies as grocery retailer Harold Friedman Inc., as well as Kmart Corp.
