BBC Worldwide North America Promotes Christine Black

BBC Worldwide North America March 10 announced the promotion of Christine Black to SVP of communications and events. She will also be part of the global BBC Worldwide communications team and reports to Herb Scannell, president of BBC Worldwide North America.

Black will be responsible for driving the communications and events strategy for BBC Worldwide in the United States and Canada. With teams in New York and Los Angeles, Black will oversee key initiatives for BBC.com, BBC Worldwide Productions, sales and co-productions, licensing and consumer products business divisions and corporate communications.  She will also sit on the BBC Worldwide North America Executive Board.

“Christine has been an invaluable member of the team for several years, raising the profile of our business in innovative ways and contributing to business firsts. She is the perfect person to lead the communications and events strategy into the future,” Scannell said in a statement.

Black joined BBC in 2004 as director of public relations for BBC America, and was promoted to VP of communications for BBC Worldwide in 2007.
