Two new releases took over the two top spots on the national home video sales charts the week ended June 12, led by Walt Disney Studios’ 'Zootopia' and Paramount's '13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi.'
New data from Parks Associates suggests millennials — which number upwards of 15 million households — still subscribe to pay-TV. The research firm found that 61% of Millennials subscribe to both pay-TV and OTT services, which is higher than the national average of 52%.
Looking to combat Netflix and Amazon Prime Video more aggressively, Sky June 15 announced it is rebranding Sky Movies to Sky Cinema beginning July 8. The largest pay-TV operator in the United Kingdom said Sky Cinema would debut a new movie daily, including offering Ultra High-Definition titles by the end of the year. The service currently bows a new title weekly. It boasts a catalog of more than 1,200 movies, which is up 20%.
