York Anew with Ingram Entertainment30 Jan, 2006 By: Erik Gruenwedel
York Entertainment has apparently renewed a former distribution deal with Ingram Entertainment, effective immediately. Los Angeles-based York has had its share of controversy within the home entertainment industry, including a falling out two years ago with Ingram.
In 2004, founder, president and CEO Tanya York staved off bankruptcy and bought her financially troubled company through a separate business, Loose Cannon Pictures, for $90,000.
Last week, York announced the acquisition of 12 titles, including pending releases of Season of Youth with Jesse Martin (Rent) and The Switch with Damian Chapa, Stacy Keach and Robert Wagner.
“Ingram is absolutely a top notch organization and we are sure that even greater sales success can be achieved through a strong relationship with Ingram,” said York in a statement.
A representative from La Vergne, Tenn.-based Ingram was unavailable for comment.
