Xbox Live Gets Tech Help

28 Aug, 2007 By: Chris Tribbey

Microsoft is getting help from Limelight Networks to streamline the Xbox Live performance for Xbox 360.

Limelight's technology and services agreements with Microsoft will “enhance the performance, scalability, and reliability of Internet delivery of media content and online service, including video, music, games, software and social media, across Microsoft's global Internet properties,” according to Limelight.

Jeff Lunsford, CEO and chairman of Limelight, which also provides services to Facebook, DreamWorks and MSNBC, said the two companys see eye-to-eye in the next steps for the future of digital delivery.

“We are proud to have been selected for this strategic initiative based on our network and technology's performance in delivering video for MSNBC.com and game content and video downloads for Xbox Live,” he said.
