Xbox Creators Throw Their Hats In the Ring10 May, 2002 By: Hive News
In the midst of the console war among GameCube, PlayStation 2 and Xbox, four video game industry veterans are starting up their own video game software company.
Kevin Bachus and Seamus Blackley -- most recently with Microsoft as developers for its Xbox console -- and video game industry veterans J. Mark Hood and Eugene Mauro will head Capital Entertainment Group (CEG), which will fund the production of games for video game consoles and PCs.
"This company was founded on a desire to create truly ground-breaking games -- the sort of original but risky projects that otherwise would never get made," said Eugene Mauro, CEG's CEO and co-founder.
CEG has partnered with several groups to raise a production fund of between $40 and $50 million and has announced that Sega of America Inc. plans to distribute the company's first two games.
