Trading card and role-playing games manufacturer Wizards of the Coast is shuttering its nationwide chain of retail stores.
The decision, which also includes The Game Keeper subsidiary chain, will affect an undisclosed number of outlets and employees.
Founded in 1990 by rocket scientist Peter Adkison and acquired by Hasbro in 1999 for $350 million, Renton, Wash.-based Wizards is best known for its third-edition version of Dungeons & Dragons.
In a related matter, Wizards said it had resolved out-of-court a legal dispute with Pok?mon USA regarding the eponymous trading card game.
Terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
