Independent distributor Westlake Entertainment has inked an exclusive distribution agreement with Rigel Entertainment.
Under the agreement, all Rigel Entertainment product will be distributed under the newly created Rigel Entertainment label.
The first release comes Jan. 2, 2007, with Max Havoc: Curse of the Dragon from the action-adventure martial arts series Max Havoc, which stars David Carradine and Carmen Electra.
Max Havoc: Ring of Fire also is set for next year.
"This is the first time our company has branded an exclusive label with a home video distributor," said John F.S. Laing, founder and CEO of Rigel. "We are impressed with the wealth of knowledge Westlake Entertainment has cultivated."
Westlake welcomes the new content and plans that independent films will play a large part of the company's growth, said Larry Cohen, principal for Westlake.
