Wellspring Hires Gilula to Spearhead Video Operations1 Dec, 2003 By: Erik Gruenwedel
Seeking to expand its home video distribution into new markets, acquire programming and build relationships, New York-based Wellspring Media has hired industry veteran Mark Gilula as a consultant.
The 18-year executive, working with partner Greg Ranney at Stanford Media Group, will coordinate activities with Wellspring's sales team, which includes Karen Bell, director of sales and special markets; Drew Manister, Western regional sales manager; Kathy Gilbert, Southern regional sales manager; and Mark Johnson, Northeastern regional sales manager.
“Mark is a seasoned veteran and a trusted friend who brings a wide range of experience to our business,” said Al Cattabiani, president and CEO of Wellspring. “Having built a solid distribution base on our high-end library, we're ready to take the next steps in going deeper with our current customers and getting into higher-volume channels.”
Gilula reports to Cattabiani in New York.
In October, Dan Gurlitz, VP/GM of home video at Wellspring, left to assume expanded video operation duties at Koch Entertainment Distribution (Video Store Magazine, Oct. 13).
