Warner TV Shows Bow on Virgin VOD

Warner Bros. Entertainment Feb. 20 announced a video-on-demand distribution deal with London-based broadband provider Virgin Media for hundreds of TV episodes from popular shows such as “Nip/Tuck,” “Friends,” “The OC,” “The West Wing” and “ER,” among others.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The news coincides with today's launch of Virgin Central, Virgin Media's TV-On-Demand channel.

“This is a huge deal and our customers have a feast of entertainment to look forward to,” said Steve Burch, president and CEO of Virgin Media. “Warner has many of the best U.S. shows available and this is our biggest content investment.”

Virgin Media claims to have more than 10 million regular customers across multiple TV channels, including LivingTV, Bravo, Challenge, Trouble, UKTV Gold, UKTV History and Ftn.
