Warner taps Alloy Media + Marketing for Web Endeavor

Warner Premier and Alloy Media + Marketing have teamed up to offer young girls the chance to land a starring role in the 2008 DVD release of The Clique.

The online promotion, at www.sugarloot.com/theclique, allows contestants to upload an audition video. The winner will get a chance to meet with the cast of the upcoming release, which is based on Lisi Harrison's best-selling young adult book series, which has sold more than four million copies and has been on the New York Times' bestseller list for nearly 100 weeks. Alloy Entertainment will produce the project.

“Contests are a great way to connect with an audience that enjoys doing creative things and getting noticed,” said Sugarloot GM Andrew Bender.

Contest entrants choose between reading two scripts for characters on the show. Once the audition is uploaded, site visitors can vote for the best ones. Five winners will meet with the cast and vie for a spot on the show. More than 60 runner-up prizes include laptops and camcorders.

“An online casting search is a great opportunity for both Alloy Media + Marketing and Warner Premier to play to their respective strengths and expertise in online marketing and promotion,” said Irika Slavin, SVP of marketing for Warner Premiere. “As we look to translate the series from book to DVD, working directly with the fans and creating scenarios which allow us to stay in contact with them and the things that keep them connected to the property will be key to our success.”

The Clique looks at female tweener life at junior high school in New York City.
