Warner Scares Up Halloween Promo28 May, 2002 By: Brendan Howard
Halloween comes early Aug. 20 when Warner Home Video releases a batch of frighteningly fun videos, including a special edition Gremlins DVD and the DVD debut of Gremlins 2: The New Batch.
Both Gremlins titles on DVD will include audio commentary with director Joe Dante, new never-before-seen footage and more.
Also arriving on VHS and DVD in the same promotion Aug. 20 are Scooby-Doo Meets Batman, two titles in Goosebumps creator R.L. Stine's The Nightmare Room series and The Magic School Bus: Creepy, Crawly Fun.
Single unit prebook is July 23; merchandiser prebook is July 16. Titles are all $14.94 or $14.95 suggested retail price on VHS, and $19.98 SRP on DVD.
Two “Scooby” titles — The Headless Horseman of Halloween and A Halloween Hassle at Dracula's Castle — and seven other films are temporarily lower-priced at $9.94 on VHS.
Scooby-Doo-only merchandisers with Scooby-Doo Meets Batman and other re-released and/or repriced “Scooby” titles will come in 12-, 18-, 24-, 36- and 48-unit displays. Halloween-themed mixed merchandisers will come in 18-, 24-, 36- and 48-unit displays.
