With the beginning of the 90th season of the National Hockey League later this month, Warner Home Video said it has agreed to a new five-year distribution deal for NHL-licensed DVDs.
The previous distribution agreement, which ended this year, was for four years.
Upcoming DVD releases include Oct. 9, 2007 Stanley Cup Champions: Anaheim Ducks Special Edition ($79.98) and Nov. 6, Greatest Games in Pittsburgh Penguins History ($49.98).
Warner will distribute a minimum of six titles over the next five years with cross-marketing opportunities with Warner theatrical and Warner Premiere.
“When it comes to passion and loyalty, it's hard to top what the NHL has to offer,” said Jeff Brown, SVP and GM, sports and franchise, Warner Home Video. “We are thrilled to continue our relationship with the NHL, and we look forward to expanding our joint venture into non-traditional avenues, which will only help grow the brand even more.”
