As part of its recently unveiled catalog initiative, Warner Home Video announced it is preparing a 10-DVD collection highlighting the collaborative works of director John Ford and actor John Wayne.

The centerpiece of The John Wayne-John Ford Collection, due June 6 (prebook May 2), is a new two-disc special edition of The Searchers, arriving on the film's 50th anniversary. The $34.92 Ultimate Collector's Edition comes with a 36-page reproduction of the original Dell comic book on which the film is based, a mail-in offer for a copy of the theatrical poster, and other extras. The two-disc set is available without the booklet for $26.99.

The collection also features a new $26.99 two-disc collector's edition of Stagecoach, newly remastered and restored from the original Vista Vision film elements, and single-disc versions of six other films.

Three have never before been released on DVD: the classic Western Fort Apache ($14.97) and the war movies The Long Voyage Home and Wings of Eagles ($19.97 each).

Rounding out the set: She Wore a Yellow Ribbon ($19.97), They Were Expendable ($12.97) and 3 Godfathers ($14.97).
