Warner Gets Digital Asset Tracking10 Sep, 2002 By: Hive News
Warner Bros. Technical Operations has inked a deal to use digital asset management company North Plains Systems Corp.'s TeleScope Enterprise system to track, exchange and protect digital advertising and publicity assets of its film units.
Warner Bros. Pictures International Distribution, Warner Bros. International Television Distribution, Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Warner Home Video will all use the technology.
"We are extremely pleased that Warner Bros. Technical Operations chose our true enterprise-class asset management system," said Hassan Kotob, president and CEO of North Plains Systems. "The infinite flexibility of TeleScope's architecture combined with its industry-leading XML components made it possible for us to meet unique criteria of the various Warner Bros. divisions."
TeleScope enables production staff, vendors, licensees, partners and consumers the ability to extract components of existing documents and dynamically generate new media assets from re-purposed ones, for a wide variety of electronic and wireless delivery methods, a North Plains spokesperson said.
Built on open standards and distributed architecture, TeleScope Enterprise supports more than 300 file formats ranging from graphics and text to audio and video.
