Warner Home Video has extended its "Trollz" video distribution agreement to the international marketplace, cutting a five-year deal with DIC Entertainment to exclusively distribute nine made-for-video titles in key territories around the world.
The agreement with DIC, worldwide licensor of “Trollz,” will last five years and cover most international markets, with the exception of the United Kingdom, France and Portugal.
Warner already distributes “Trollz” videos in the United States. The first two titles arrived in stores here Sept. 6. Best Friends for Life and Magic of the Five also will lead the international release slate later in the fourth quarter.
DIC this year acquired the worldwide entertainment and licensing rights to “Trollz” from the Troll Co. The brand has a 50-year-old heritage. DIC's rollout plans include television, home video, games, music and a wide array of merchandise.
Steve Nickerson, SVP of market management for Warner Home Video, praised DIC for having “done a tremendous job building and contemporizing this classic brand.”
