Warner Bows Bigger DVD Vendor Packs

Warner Home Video May 16 will unveil separate 10-DVD vendor packs for small-business retailers.

The self-contained merchandiser displays, which sell for $73.92 each, will feature either family or action titles. The retailer determines individual unit prices. The merchandiser displays are distributed through WHV's usual channels.

Family titles include A Walk to Remember, Black Beauty, Cats & Dogs, Vegas Vacation, Spies Like Us, See Spot Run, The NeverEnding Story, Kangaroo Jack and The Iron Giant: Special Edition.

The action/male demographic titles are Swordfish, 3000 Miles To Graceland, Lethal Weapon: Director's Cut, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Starsky & Hutch, The Last Boy Scout, Twister, The Fugitive, Austin Powers in Goldmember and The Long Kiss Goodnight.

“We feel the time has come for a turn-key vendor pack that is suitable for any type of retail outlet besides the mass merchants and specialty stores,” said Jeff Baker, GM and SVP of theatrical catalog marketing. “For stores that want to be in the entertainment and DVD business, here is a turnkey approach. They can literally unwrap it and they are in business.”
