Warner to Bow McDonald's Kids Videos

McDonald's is apparently looking to supersize children's muscles, not just their stomachs.

Warner Home Video and McDonald's Aug. 15 will release on DVD McKids Adventures Vol. 1: Get Up and Go With Ronald and McKids Adventures Vol. 2: Treasure Hunt With Ronald.

The DVDs — produced in association with DIC Entertainment, which licenses the “McKids” brand — will retail for $14.98. Prebook date is July 11. The titles will not be sold or available for rent at Redbox kiosks located at select McDonald's locations.

The DVDs are part of the company's national campaign aimed at promoting physical activity among children.

Get Up and Go and Treasure Hunt feature Ronald McDonald accompanied by a group of children who together engage in a series of adventures, songs and journeys. The videos include original music videos, interactive games, behind-the-scenes footage and trailers.

“This new high-energy series is another way that McDonald's is committed to helping families lead active lifestyles,” said Cathy Nemeth, senior director for global marketing. “Ronald McDonald makes it easy for kids to learn how much fun being active can be.”
