VSDA Seeks Nominations For Retailer of the Year12 Mar, 2002 By: Kurt Indvik
The Video Software Dealers Association (VSDA) is calling for nominations for its Retailer of the Year awards, which will be presented during Home Entertainment 2002, July 16 to 18 at the Rio Suites Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Nominations are due no later than May 1.
"Each year, the association bestows its Retailer of the Year awards to aselect group of noteworthy retail members who have demonstrated excellencein store operations," said Bo Andersen, VSDA president."The list of past honorees reads like a‘Who's Who' of the home entertainment industry, and we're always on thelookout for deserving candidates who should be added to this accomplishedgroup."
VSDA members can nominate themselves or other member retailerswho have shown excellence in the operation of their store(s) during the pastyear. The awards are presented in four categories: Independent or Small Chain (1-5 locations); Midsize Chain (6-20 locations); Large Chain (21 or more locations); and Canadian Retailer of the Year.
Nominating members are asked to write a brief statement about the nominee, including a description of their operation that includes the store's name and principal location, total number of stores, operational characteristics and a description of the product mix. Also requested is a brief description of the nominee's retailing philosophy.
