Terri Schumacher, vice chair of iGroup, and Bo Andersen, president of the VSDA (Video Software Dealers Association), announced today the appointment of Frank Lucca as director of the iGroup.
Lucca is the former owner of Video Connection stores and a founding member of the New England Chapter of the VSDA, serving for eight years as either chair or president of the chapter. He was most recently VSDA's director of Web site development and member support.
"When we turned to the question of who should be the lead staff for the iGroup, there was no doubt that it should be Frank Lucca," Schumacher explained. "Frank is one of us; he understands our issues, and he is committed to the collaborative, grassroots, member-driven model of operation we are implementing."
As iGroup director, Lucca will act as a team leader for the iGroup staff. His responsibilities include managing implementation of iGroup board directives regarding business tools, communication, education and networking products and services for IVRs, and the recruitment and retention of members. He will also serve as primary liaison with the iGroup board and supervise the iGroup staff.
iGroup is an autonomous division of the VSDA, whose mission is to empower the independent video retailers to grow their businesses through networking, communication, education and business tools.
