Viz Pictures has partnered with retailer Hot Topic to promote the live-action release of Death Note II: The Last Name, a continuation of the Viz Media anime Death Note.
Customers who buy a "Death Note" DVD or T-shirt will receive a free ticket to a screening of the film Oct. 15 or Oct. 16 at more than 400 theaters nationwide.
“We’re very excited to again partner with Hot Topic to promote the U.S. premiere of Death Note II: The Last Name,” said Lauren Rozek, director of retail development for Viz Media. “Our earlier promotion with the retailer to support the premiere of the first Death Note feature film was very successful, and the 'Death Note' property resonates with many Hot Topic customers though a variety of unique products.”
