Verizon Online to Bow Movie Download Service

Verizon Online and video-on-demand service Movielink have launched a movie downloading service for use by the telecommunication company's broadband DSL and FiOS Internet service customers.

Under terms of the agreement, customers could store a downloaded movie on their PC or laptop hard drive for 24-hour playback up to 30 days before the data file is automatically deleted.

Movielink, which is co-owned by five movie studios, currently claims hundreds of titles on its Web site, including Friday Night Lights, Into the Sun, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow and Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason.
