Entertainment software and hardware swap site Uzed.com is offering a million-dollar sweepstakes for consumers who sell their old CDs, DVDs or video games on the site.
Consumers who sell at the site will be able to submit the UPCs of their sold entertainment product as their "sweepstakes" numbers. Sellers can enter up to 200 numbers from sold items.
The promotion will include five individual drawings: a daily drawing of 1 UPC for $100; a weekly drawing of two UPCs for $1,000; a weekly drawing of three UPCs for $10,000; a monthly drawing of four UPCs for $100,000 and a monthly grand prize drawing of five UPCs for $1 million. Official rules are posted on the site.
Uzed.com lets consumers and retailers (via its wholesale site, www.uzedwholesale.com) sell their unwanted cell phones, digital music players/iPods, PDAs and memory cards and sticks online along with used CDs, DVDs, video games.
For retailers and rentailers, the company offers in-store trading programs and online private label systems for buying back consumer electronics and entertainment products and lets them sell their overstocked titles.
Uzed inspects the product for quality and quantity and pays the consumer within an average of five business days via check or PayPal. Uzed.com buys back more than 150,000 SKUs of consumer entertainment and consumer electronics product.
