Universal Lets Fly With Dragonfly

27 May, 2002 By: Brendan Howard

While it flew out of theaters pretty quick, with a total box office take of $30.1 million, Dragonfly still has Oscar-winning Kevin Costner as a star, so people may have thought of it as an “I'll wait 'til it comes out on video” selection.

The supernatural thriller from Universal Studios Home Video streets July 30 and is priced for rental on VHS and for $19.95 minimum advertised price on DVD. Prebook dates are July 9 for VHS and June 25 for DVD.

Helping it along on DVD are deleted scenes, audio commentary with director Tom Shadyac, a “making of” featurette, a featurette with best-selling author Betty Eadie (Embraced by the Light) talking about her near-death experience, DVD-ROM features and a theatrical trailer.

The story follows Costner as Dr. Joe Darrow, who begins to think his dead wife is trying to contact him from beyond the grave. The film co-stars Academy Award-winners Kathy Bates and Linda Hunt.
