United Talent Agency Helps Bow Online Entertainment Syndication Co.

Seeking to capitalize on the Web's growing role in distribution of filmed entertainment, United Talent Agency (UTA) and advertising agency Spot Runner have formed 60Frames Entertainment.

Backed by $3.5 million in funding, 60Frames intends to work with content creators and advertisers to develop online co-opted entertainment brands, according to the firm's new CEO, Brad Weinstein.

The upstart plans to work with acclaimed filmmakers Joel and Ethan Coen (and UTA clients), who will create content for 60Frames in addition to serving on its creative advisory board.

“In the same way that television developed iconic brands in the last century, 60Frames will help professional artists to create new formats, characters and stories that will be the brands in the 21st century,” Weinstein said.

Weinstein previously headed UTA's digital media department and online division.
