Underworld: Blood Wars 'Underworld' Edges 'La La Land' For Top Spot on Overall Disc Sales Chart

Sony Pictures' 'Underworld: Blood Wars' narrowly outsold Lionsgate's 'La La Land' on the NPD VideoScan First Alert sales chart, which tracks combined DVD and Blu-ray Disc unit sales, to debut at No. 1 the week ended April 30. However, 'La La Land' was the top-selling Blu-ray Disc for the week.

Warner Finds 'Fantastic Beasts' in Home Entertainment

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment reported first-quarter (ended March 31) revenue from theatrical product of $368 million, which was up 15% from revenue of $321 million during the previous-year period. Content included packaged media and digital. Revenue from TV content declined 7.5% to $87 million, from $94 million.

'Hulu Live With TV' Online TV Service Launches

As expected, Hulu May 3 officially bowed “Hulu With Live TV ” in beta, a standalone online TV service priced at $39.99 a month for 50 channels, 50 hours of DVR cloud storage, up to six individual Hulu profiles, two simultaneous streams and no contract.
