UltraViolet Awareness, Accounts Up

UltraViolet-enabled titles are at nearly 9,000. Today there are approximately 11 million consumer UltraViolet accounts, up about 2 million since the Consumer Electronics Show in January. And, according to one studio’s research, awareness of the feature keeps growing, with UltraViolet a positive influence for consumers deciding whether or not to purchase home entertainment.

Next Wave of Disney Animated Blu-rays Coming Out June 11

The release of 2000’s 'The Emperor’s New Groove,' 2001’s 'Atlantis: The Lost Empire' and 2002’s 'Lilo & Stitch' will mean that 35 of the 52 films in the Walt Disney Animation Studios canon will have been released in high-definition.

Universal, Redbox Extend Relationship Through 2014

Universal Studios Home Entertainment and Redbox have agreed to extend their DVD rental arrangement through the end of 2014. The extension keeps new-release discs from the studio on a 28-day embargo for the kiosk operator.
