U.K. Authorities Launch FACT-Finding Mission

20 Sep, 2002 By: Hive News

Officers from the United Kingdom's Federation Against Copyright Theft (FACT) raided a popular counterfeit goods market in London last month.

FACT launched its attack on dealers who sell out of the Hackney Market, held every Sunday at a dog-racing track, with teams of undercover officers, uniformed police and helicopters, according to British trade magazine View.

The market reportedly has one of the worst records in the country for the sale of counterfeit goods, including DVDs from Southeast Asia. FACT made seven arrests and seized an undisclosed amount of DVDs, PC software, games media, music CDs and clothing, View reported.
