4Kids Entertainment, Inc. today announced it has elected Michael Goldstein, former chairman and CEO of Toys "R" Us to its board of directors, bringing the board to six members.
“Michael Goldstein's vast experience in the toy industry is a tremendous asset for 4Kids Entertainment. His long tenure at one of the world's leading toy retailers provides additional expertise to 4Kids' Board,” said 4Kids chairman Alfred R. Kahn. “I am pleased to welcome Michael as a member of our Board. His highly qualified background and industry presence will have a significant impact on our company."
Goldstein has been with Toys "R" Us for more than 19 years and serves on its board and executive committee. He also chairs the Toys "R" Us Children's Fund, a corporate philanthropic organization. He was Toys "R" Us chairman from 1997-2001 and was CEO from 1994 to 1997. Previously, he was SEVP, Operations and Finance, for Lerner Stores and a partner at Ernst & Young from 1973 to 1979 in New York.
Goldstein also serves on the board of Columbia House, Finlay Enterprises and United Retail.
