Tower Bows Holiday TV Campaign

Resurgent retailer Tower Records has launched a TV advertising campaign in select markets that combines music and movie trivia to push DVD, CD and consumer electronics sales during the holiday season.

The two humorous 30-second spots, The Talk (father and son discus where babies come from) and The Blessing (first dinner with girlfriend's parents), include references to Buena Vista Home Entertainment's Gone in 60 Seconds, and Warner Home Video's Free Willy and Dirty Harry.

“We are pushing Tower as a brand and music, movies and gadgets,” said a Tower spokesperson.

The West Sacramento-based national retailer, which rebounded from bankruptcy last year, also launched a billboard campaign for holiday gift cards featuring Madonna and Green Day.
