Toshiba Offering Free Movies with HD DVD Purchase

As homebuilders entice buyers with free upgrades to curtail sagging home sales, Toshiba Corp. from Nov. 1 to Feb. 28, 2007 will attempt to jumpstart sluggish HD DVD player sales by offering consumers the choice of three free HD DVD movies with the purchase of a Toshiba HD DVD player.

Toshiba currently offers seven HD DVD player models priced from $400.

Sony previously announced it would offer the movie Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby on Blu-ray Disc with the first 500,000 PlayStation 3 video game systems sold.

Toshiba consumers can pick one movie selection from each of three categories from Universal Studios Home Entertainment, Paramount Home Entertainment and Warner Home Video.

Titles include (Cat. A) Apollo 13, The Chronicles of Riddick, The Rundown, Seabiscuit, U-571, (Cat. B) Blazing Saddles, Casablanca, Constantine, The Dukes of Hazzard, The Perfect Storm, (Cat. C) Four Brothers, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, U2: Rattle and Hum and We Were Soldiers.

In addition to name, mailing address, phone number and email, consumers must include the original UPC code from the outside of the Toshiba HD DVD player package and either a copy or the original sales receipt with the purchase price and date clearly marked to:
