TNR Promo Attracts New Customers

TNR Entertainment this week awarded seven prizes of 365 free rentals at the company's The New Release-branded DVD rental kiosks.

Winners came from TNR's top seven markets of Texas, Tennessee, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Florida, Kansas and Kentucky.

TNR accepted more than 43,000 entries to its “Win Movies for a Year” promotion highlighted across thee chain's 1600 supermarket and grocery store locations for The New Release kiosks.

Winners got a Visa check chard frontloaded with $365 — the equivalent of one year's rentals from the company's $1-per-night kiosks.

Marketing for the promotion was principally handled via in-store signage, posters and flyers on the company Web site, said Tracy Walker, executive director of sales and marketing for TNR. The company was pleasantly surprised at the number of entries, Walker said.

“The success of the promotion far exceeded our expectations,” Walker said. “Significantly, we've introduced the concept of $1-per-night DVD movie rentals at our kiosks to thousands of new customers in the grocery channel and generated increased traffic for our retail partners — exactly what we set out to accomplish.”

TNR kiosks are located across the country in such grocery chains as Dillon's Food 4 Less, Food Lion, Fry's H-E-B, Kroger, King Soopers, Publix, Quality Food Centers, Ralph's, Roundy's/Pick ‘N Save and Spartan/Family Fare.
