TNR Goes East1 May, 2006 By: Erik Gruenwedel
TNR Entertainment Corp., a Houston-based provider of stand-alone $1-a-day DVD rental kiosks, announced May 1 an agreement with the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company (A&P) to install units in 30 A&P and SuperFresh stores throughout Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Installation of the kiosks, which accept a credit or debit card and extend the 24-hour rental period until midnight the following day, is slated for completion this month.
“We look forward to expanding our reach in the northeast with our newest partner, A&P, as we bring the fun, ease and convenience of automated DVD rentals to their customers,” said Tracy Walker, executive director of sales and marketing for TNR Entertainment Corp.
TNR operates rental kiosks in Southeast Texas, North Carolina, Florida, Indiana, Wisconsin and Colorado, and claims to serve about 1 million customers monthly through kiosks that carry 200 titles and 1,000 units.
Rival Redbox features more than 800 kiosk locations, including select McDonald's restaurants, major supermarket chains and office buildings.
