TiVo Seeks CEO Successor

13 Jan, 2005 By: Erik Gruenwedel

Mike Ramsay, co-founder, chairman and CEO of personal recording service TiVo, today said a plan to find his successor as CEO has been put into play.

Ramsay, who will continue to manage day-to-day operations of Alviso, Calif.-based TiVo until a successor is found, would retain his position as chairman.

Since pioneering the concept of time-shifting entertainment in the home in 1997, TiVo, with 2.3 million subscribers, has seen the market inundated by digital video recorders from cable and satellite companies.
