THQ Inc. demo'd its next-generation game lineup for the 2001 holiday season at a press event in New York on Tuesday.
Featured titles include Dark Summit, NewLegends and MX 2002 featuring Ricky Carmichael for Xbox, Red Faction for PC, and in conjunction withJAKKS Pacific Inc., WWFSmackDown! Just Bring It for the PlayStation 2 and WWF Raw Is Warfor Xbox. In addition, THQ is also demonstrating numerous Game Boy Advance titles for Nintendo.
"With an unprecedented three new gaming systems beingintroduced this year, we expect Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft to significantly expand the interactive entertainment business,'' saidBrian Farrell, president and c.e.o., THQ. "We have a greatlineup of next generation products including four morePlayStation 2 titles, 14 games for Game Boy Advance and four titles for Xbox. We also have several Gamecube titles in development for release in early 2002."
THQ's next-generation 2001 holiday lineup will include:
-- Dark Summit is a snowboarding action game with an in-depth storyline and mission-based objectives. (PlayStation 2 and Xbox).
-- MX 2002 featuring Ricky Carmichael, with 30 professional riders, is designed to be the complete motocross experience for the Xbox (also currentlyavailable for PlayStation 2).
-- New Legends, a cinematic martial-arts combat game, boasts a storyline set in a future China (Xbox).
-- Red Faction, an action thriller for the PC,features five controllable vehicles and an in-depth multi-player mode supporting up to 32 players online (also currently available for PlayStation 2).
-- WWF SmackDown! Just Bring It, developed for the PlayStation 2 by Yuke's of Japan, pits players against more than 35 World Wrestling Federation Superstars in over 70 different matches.
-- WWF Raw Is War, created by Anchor for Xbox, throws The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and 35 other superstars into gamers' laps.
