Target To Launch Proprietary Sony Line

25 Mar, 2002 By: Hive News

Sony Electronics Inc. will design an exclusive product line exclusively for Target Stores and target.com that will debut this Spring.

The nine products named Sony Liv, the first time Sony has designed a line exclusively for a single retailer are all priced under $150 and will follow Sony's new trend toward flashy color designs plus user-friendly details usually associated with more expensive electronics.

With a sophisticated, compact look, the selection of CD players, alarm clocks, radios, and a universal remote features colors in white highlighted with cool lime and silver and offers unique styles, such as a clutch radio that resembles a purse and an under-counter mounted CD player designed specifically for the kitchen.

"Target is committed to making innovative products and great style accessible to everyone,'' said Steve Eastman, VP of merchandising for Target. "The superior aesthetic of our Sony line offers Target guests a unique combination -- the high quality of Sony electronics with the great looks and forward design guests expect from Target."

The line reinforces Target's commitment to offering leading trends at value prices, a Target spokesperson said.
